Aussie Party Mix Lolly Bags

Aussie Party Mix Lolly Bags

After 16 years of doing 100g party mix lolly bags, we have decided to give them a sizing make over. Unfortunately, along with everything else, lollies have seen incredible increases over the last 12 months. Resizing the lolly bags was a way to combat those increases for all those businesses out there using them for giveaways, to keep them at a reasonable per item price.

The sizing has been reduced to 80g (roughly 16 lollies per bag) which in turn has reduced the pricing depending on the quantity purchased. The lighter weight will also help reduce the cost of delivery for those that buy them in the hundreds, particularly interstate.

As always, your continued support in our business is so greatly appreciated.

Sweet Regards, Wendy.

End of a Decade

As 2019 comes to a close I have reflected on the last decade as being the one that had us enjoying our own business as a family. It started great and kept going great and then there’s always a few hiccups along the way, all which have lead us to where we are today. We have seen a few website changes and challenges, new payment systems like Afterpay really brought the business to a whole new level. So many lollies have been deleted and there have been some new surprises but all in all most of the traditional lollies we have enjoyed since the start still seem to be the biggest sellers.

A lot can change in 10 years and sometimes never what you expect. The journey into 2020 for me will be a solo one but hopefully a strong one. I guess out of it all I am here and still going to push ahead and continue to reach lolly lovers across the country. Thank you to all the support each year from you the lolly lovers out there online and those that can venture in store, it is very much appreciated.

Cheers

Wendy

Where did the holidays go?

red tulip easter basket

When you plan a holiday the anticipation can be overwhelming and having to wait 12 months feels like an eternity. And then… GONE.

It had been a few years since we had the opportunity to travel and I was so looking forward to going to Hawaii. Sun, beaches, shopping, Pearl Harbour, shopping, Jurassic Park, Mai Tai’s, shopping. It now all seems like a lifetime ago. March!! only 8 weeks until Easter, the biggest time of the year for this little lolly shop, and already well into packing up the bulk mini eggs and creating Easter gift boxes. How does the time go so fast?

Easter gift boxes are a very popular gift item for Easter and there are a few pre-made to make it easy or let us know the items you would like included and we can custom make one.

Click on Easter and check out all the wonderful chocolate delights.

Christmas is Coming

Christmas is Coming

With only 5 weeks until the Christmas festivities,
have you planned your annual event?
We have been on the go, as usual, since the moment the candy canes arrived.
I enjoy the excitement created at this time of year and the happy faces that come into the shop with their list of goodies needed to make their holiday special.
There's always phone calls from online shoppers hoping to get their Christmas Creations quickly, the challenge is always fun.
Mini Candy Canes have again been very popular with the corporate customers we have. They work out quite economical for the all the Christmas functions.
There's been a lot of new products out this year including our own honey in gift size jars with a festive theme.
Chocolate Eclairs, Cadbury Mints, and a new Lolly Mix.
There's still time to stock up with your Christmas Stash but don't leave it too long! Santa is Coming!

Santa's Visit

How lucky is Lollyworld to have Santa visit!

He was picking up his candy canes that he’ll be giving out to all the girls and boys that have been good this year.

You can have a visit from him too. He has his own website so Mrs Claus can keep track of where he’s supposed to be.

A decade of Lollyworld

Happy 10th Anniversary to us!

Australia Day marks 10 years for Lollyworld, our little lolly shop in Lawnton. That’s quite an exciting thought to know what we have achieved in a decade, and are still going strong. There have been times where we thought it may not go the distance because any business can be brutal. There have been many lolly shops pop up all over the place, stores and online. Some we have watched do well while others disappear before people knew they were even there. The 2011 floods wiped out our local bridge, walk in trade was all but gone. Railway closures, a new over pass taking traffic away made it very quiet. About a dozen stores around our local shops have come and gone. It’s not for the faint of heart, like any business, you have to have a heart of steel and a head of sharp mechanics, to be constantly aware of all that goes on and to stay focused.

Our business has evolved from when it started in 2005, under the house, as we made small mixed lolly bags we would sticker for parties, to around Australia corporate sales. In the last two weeks alone, over 200kgs chocolate gold coins have gone out just for Chinese New Year celebrations. Valentines Day is around the corner, Easter and Mothers Day. The wheels keep turning. We have you to thank for that. See the need, fill the need, in the words of Bigweld, and that is what we will continue to do.

Happy 10th Anniversary Lollyworld!

Our honey is Nothin but Honey

Save the Bees – Bee the Cure

**Unfortunately this honey is no longer for sale

This is a cause very close to our heart. Behind the scenes at Lollyworld, we are the randy bee, and our honey is Nothin but Honey. We have become avid beekeepers over the last 5 years. Starting with native bees purely for pollination (I have never had so many passion fruit!) But since having European honey bees it almost feels like a duty to expand the hives and keep them prospering. Thankfully they give us a lot of honey and we now have quite a few hives.

The problem can be solved if we all get involved. Support your local beekeeper! There are plenty of us, and the Bee the Cure site is the perfect place to find us. The honey map is such a great idea. Once you have had local honey without all the processes, you will always make the effort to purchase from a local beekeeper. We are very lucky to have a place like Lollyworld to be able to get our honey out there.

I love the different flavours we get each time we rob the hive. Can you believe I have never been stung! My husband has… you do not want to ask where… They can fly a distance of 10km.  Because we live in Pine Rivers, there are plenty of bush lands to choose from. Perhaps the latest taste is that of the Golden Penda, they are lining the streets and flowering like there’s no tomorrow. We often go for a walk in the afternoon and see them buzzing away through these flowering trees. Try our honey in store or online at this link Nothin but Honey. We deliver all around Australia. You can choose from a 300g jar, a 500g squeezie bottle, and also a 1.5kg tub. Check out the honey map to see your local beekeeper The Honey Map

Candy Blocks you can build and eat

cake decorating

Not often does a new product come into the shop that surprises me. Candy Blox is one of those lollies. I have customers quite often wanting to make a Minecraft cake for their son’s birthday and they need items that would portray the game. This lolly fits the mould perfectly. The pieces, like Lego, actually fit together and you can build yourself what ever your imagination wants. Great for decorating that Minecraft cake. They are sweet to the taste and not too hard, so good for the little ones. There are also some small blocks so keep an eye on them. Candy Blox come in 3 sizes 100g, 300g and 1kg in case you need to build a whole lolly city.
